WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?
Thanks for asking. You hold in your hands...I dunno,
probably a mouse or a keyboard or something. But on
your screen, you're viewing the official email
newsletter of the Van Gogh-Goghs sketch comedy group,
L.A.'s seventeenth hardest-working sketch comedy group
and/or Cub Scout den. Feel free to pass it along to
your pals and encourage them to sign up themselves at
<http://www.vgg.com/vgg/bookindex.html>.

MARCH SHOWS ARE HERE
This weekend, we'll be premiering our brand-spankin'
new sketch shows, "I Know How You Take Your Coffee" and
"The Charles Rempel Memorial Show." And you know what
new shows mean -- you get to watch Alan stumble over
half-memorized lines! What could be better?
(We joke of course. Alan will have his lines completely
memorized by show time. At least, he better.)
These two shows also mark the triumphant return of our
own Galen K. Black, the fifth Van Gogh-Gogh, the baby
boy of a backwoods preacher, the man who put the
"Galen" in "Hello, my name is Galen." Ole Mr. Black's
been back home in North Carolina for about a year and a
half, so we're awful excited to see him again. Finally
we can split rent six ways again!
So there you go, two darn good reasons to see the Van
Gogh-Goghs' March shows. Hopefully, we'll see you
at....

VAN GOGH-GOGHS TO STINK REAL BAD
After our March shows, the Van Gogh-Goghs are setting
our sites on Austin's Big Stinkin' International Improv
and Sketch Comedy Festival. That's no mean feat,
considering that Austin is something like 1,500 miles
away, and setting sites at that distance stings
something awful. But we'll do it. Why? Because we love
you so much. That's the kind of guys we are.
We still haven't heard when we're performing, but the
Van Gogh-Goghs will be on display Monday through
Friday, April 5-9, from 1:30-4 p.m. We're teaching a
class about building Web sites, thereby cementing our
reputation as hopeless geeks.
As soon as we get our show times, we'll put them up on
<http://www.vgg.com/>. If you know anyone in Austin,
tell 'em about us. Alternatively, feel free to become a
"Van Gogh-Goghhead," print up some tie-dye shirts, hop
into a filthy VW van, and follow us to Austin. Just
don't eat the brown acid, and check
<http://www.bigstinkin.com/> for the latest info on the
festival.

APRIL SHOW BOOKED
Since we were kids, our favorite month has always been
LateFebruaryEarlyMarch. Why? Because every year we
would celebrate with an old-fashioned show booking. And
this year's no different -- we just got a show for
April 29. We'll be appearing at Uncle Clyde's Comedy
Contest at the Ha Ha Cafe, 5010 Lankershim Blvd., North
Hollywood.
The contest is an ongoing comedy competition that pits
up-and-coming standups against one another in a bloody
battle to the death. At least, we think that's what
happens. Between rounds, we'll perform a couple of
sketches (think of us as a comedy palate-cleanser). The
show runs from 8-10 p.m., and tickets are in
advance, at the door. Call (818) 508-4995 to make
reservations.

TWO NEW VAN GOGH-GOGH WEB SITES
The Web is wonderful. Not only can you quickly and
easily connect with pornographers, hate groups, con
artists, Matt Drudge, and other fine upstanding members
of the global community, you can read the Van Gogh-Gogh
bio in three places! Truly, this is the best of all
possible worlds.
First off, there's <http://www.vgg.com/>, our home
base. Then there's
<http://www.bigstinkin.com/troupes/VanGoghGoghs/index.htm>,
courtesy of the nice folks at the Big Stinkin' fest. It
gives a little background on our Big Stinkin' history,
which will be of particular interest to those of you
who are bedridden or psychotic. Finally, there's
<http://www.comedy.com/thevggs>, our new page at
Comedy.com, a big index of comedy groups and standups.
Along with a bio, this site features our latest show
dates. How freakin' convenient.

FAST NEW WEB SERVER IS HERE
Not to geek out on you, but we wanted to let you know
that our long-awaited new Web server (the computer that
contains <http://www.vgg.com/>) is finally up and
running. What does this mean to the average Van
Gogh-Goghphile? Um, basically, you can ogle Furniture
Porn faster than ever. Not too shabby, eh?
===
OK, THAT'S ALL
Wow, you read all the way down here? You are the man
and/or woman. Send any comments to us at
thevggs@vgg.com. See you next month.
