{"id":37,"date":"2008-06-21T11:38:41","date_gmt":"2008-06-21T15:38:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vgg.com\/blog\/?p=37"},"modified":"2008-06-24T11:40:22","modified_gmt":"2008-06-24T15:40:22","slug":"coach-ks-trashcan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vgg.com\/blog\/?p=37","title":{"rendered":"Coach K&#8217;s Trashcan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>[Update: Edited 6\/24\/08, see below.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Recently a picture was posted to&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/mbd.scout.com\/mb.aspx?S=78&amp;F=1410\">Inside Carolina message board<\/a>&nbsp;which purported to show the contents of Coach K&#8217;s trashcan.&nbsp;The picture showed printed pages with&nbsp;ESPN&#8217;s prediction that &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/sports.espn.go.com\/espn\/print?id=3446170&amp;type=Columnist&amp;imagesPrint=off\">Tar Heels will be overwhelming favorites to win it all,<\/a>&#8221; apparently discarded in disgust. A number of us UNC fans enjoyed a good laugh, but almost immediately the guy received a ton of pressure from some shadowy Duke figures to remove the picture and story, and in less than a day he did so.&nbsp;<em>[I have been asked to shroud even the story behind the picture in secrecy.]<\/em>&nbsp;Thus only the most IC-addicted fans knew about it. I had saved a copy of the picture, but the guy asked me to remove it.<\/p>\n<p>However, this was too much fun to let disappear. So, I mocked up my own version of the trash can picture.
